British Columbia’s optimal environment produces some of the world best oysters (Crassostrea gigas). Sustainably grown year-round in our nutrient rich, cold and clean waters, suspended or grown on the beach, Pacific Oysters are a delicious and nutritious menu choice.
All our shellfish is grown under stringent Canadian standards and we are certified to export to the U.S. and other international markets with either fresh or frozen product and is tagged at harvest to ensure full traceability.
Live oysters should be stored loose in a container at 4 degrees C, cover the container with a clean damp towel and damp newspaper and a beach oyster can be stored for as long as three weeks.
Frozen oysters should be stored at a minimum of minus 18 degrees C, although minus 22 degrees is advised to allow for the opening and closing of freezer doors.
