The Pacific Kiss Showcase BC Oyster Platter
No visit to British Columbia is complete without savouring the delightful, fresh, fresh taste of our world class oysters.
Exclusively for the visiting media, our growers have created an oyster platter that is truly representative of each of our growing regions & variety of oyster farming styles. Discover how the crisp, clean taste of a BC oyster is truly representative of the terrior of each, pristine coastal region. As some of these oysters are farmed exclusively for discerning international markets, you can only find them in two Vancouver area restaurants, Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House and Monk McQueens Fresh Seafood and Oyster Bar. For the first time all 12 of these spectacular BC oysters are available side by side for comparison tasting.

Kissed by the Ocean...
Succulent BC Oysters are sustainably grown in the nutrient rich, cool waters off Canada’s sparsely populated west coast.

Come and meet the growers and discover:

  • Why BC is Canada’s oyster capital.
  • Why Vancouverites have one of the highest per capita rates of oyster consumption in North America.
  • The top 10 raw oyster bars in BC.
  • What influences the flavour of an oyster.
  • Everything you ever wanted to know about the sex life of an oyster.
  • A day in the life of a BC oyster farmer.
